Yes, a lot has changed. There are more affordable options with Lyft Share and Uber Pool. Even though the price point is relatively affordable, the reliability is incredibly poor. Sometimes I can get to Rockridge BART in 15 minutes, in other cases it might even be 45 minutes.

One option is to drive to Coliseum BART very early and do daily parking.

The absolute best option is to combine BART and a pedal-assisted electric bicycle. You get to optimize speed, predictability and throw a workout in there.
